Hardball With Chris Matthews!
For those who don’t know Hardball with Chris Matthews is a show on MSNBC, it is talk show that focuses on politics. On the show today, two topics stole my attention:
Topic #1: Mike Castle former governor of Delaware had a town meeting
So in Delaware, they had a town hall meeting, and this crazy woman, kept on talking about how she believes Obama is not a citizen and how she wants her country back. To make matters worse the reprentative of the republican party of California, congressman John Campbell thinks that we should pass a bill making sure that upcoming presidents should go through a screening process to make sure they are eligible. First off …. Obama is a citizen… he has a birth certificate…. check it out… second off why is he supporting that crazy ass idea… I think that himself doesn’t believe Obama is a citizen because when Chris Matthews Called him out he wanted to plead the fifth and shyt…. Just because a Black man is in office, these republicans want to start trouble, i think they are just racist. And Kudos to Chris Matthews for letting him know that the congressman is supporting these crazy ass nut cases… and to this republican party we can mail them Obama Birth Certificate.
Obama is the president so all the people who don’t like him can shove it…..

“Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., one of the nation’s pre-eminent African-American scholars, was arrested Thursday afternoon at his home by Cambridge police investigating a possible break-in. The incident raised concerns among some Harvard faculty that Gates was a victim of racial profiling.” Quoted from The Boston Globe…
This topic was also discussed by Chris Matthews…. Let me go in depth with this. This Harvard Law Professor was arrested from his home…. I repeat HIS HOME which is near the University. His neighbor called the police because she saw a black man getting into his house but mistook him for a burglar, she didn’t know that her neighbor was black and i cough ” BULLSHIT”. Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune and Michael Eric Dyson of Georgetown University both believe that he was profiled. Michael Eric Dyson believes that this show how there are a lot black men who get profile and might even go in jail and they don’t deserve to be there. Chris Matthews pissed me off because he was making it seem like Professor Gates did not cooperate, but i mean why wouldn’t he? He showed you Id, and its his own damn House. I felt like he was trying to make excuses for the cops…. Period they were wrong. To make matters worse…. chris matthews trying to say that there is a change in all that because Obama is in office… ummm hello are you nuts just because Obama is the first African American president does not mean all the baggage and the wrong doings and profiling that happen to African Americans. That is like saying just because Slavery is over…. so is racism…. !!
To Conclude things….. I love Hardball with Chris Matthews….The Man brings real topics to the table… and let us explore it…. Stay informed… Entertainment is not your 1st priority…. the NEWS IS!!!!

hi,
I stumbled on your blog while looking for something else…anyway it held my attention so I read. I am assuming that you are a college student writing for your peers but I felt like commenting therefore if you don’t mind, here are my two cents.
I happened to see the youtube video of that nutcase woman in that lame town hall meeting. To me more than racism it is American politics. Yes, I agree that in case of the nutcase woman (incidentally whose voice and accent were like nails on a blackboard) and the other people from that Town it surely was racism. As a non-white and non-American person, my experience is that it is usually the blue-collared, right wing, evangelicals who have such radical views because they don’t know anything better. Most people haven’t even left their miserable towns to see other parts of this country let alone other parts of the world. They have a perception based upon their very limited experience. Unfortunately most people here are too busy drinking their beers and watching football.
From a political side, you cannot generalize that all republicans are racist; if that were the case then you would not have had Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell, both extremely accomplished African Americans, in the previous administration. These are politicians just catering to their vote base…the bible and gun belt. The republicans are of course scared that they have lost control. They have to distract and deflect attention so that they don’t lose their constituents. About these bills…there are all kinds of crazy bills being introduced. Most of the times it is just fear mongering…feeding on other peoples insecurities and securing their own positions and political futures.
Yes, the incident about the Harvard Professor is outrageous. It is racial profiling at its worst! Yes you are right that this country does have a long way to go. It is not just in terms of racial issues but even gender. I think though that 40 years back no one would have thought that this country would have an African American president but it has, and in fact much before they have had a female president. Therefore as the number of younger and more successful African Americans increases, people’s perception will begin to change.

I am really happy that you stumbled upon my blog… and it interested you enough… to give it the time of the day and read it… I really appreciate your insight, and your two cents does matter… the whole purpose of my blog is being able to discuss any sort of issues with rational people. I love how you gave me the political…. it gave me a new outlook about republicans … your right they are not all racist… i am just bewildered about these accusations about Obama… i mean i understand they trying to regain control but come on …. and i def agree with you about this country coming a long way .. Actually I was looking for the lyrics of the song “geek in the pink” when I stumbled across your blog.
I love blogging…used to do that a lot a few years ago. It is a platform where in relative anonymity one can express ones thoughts, ideas and write whatever comes in ones mind. I was amused when you wrote to your peers to be aware of current affairs. It is appalling how blissfully ignorant most people are.
You see people have a perception about other people. There is a stereotype that every ethnicity has to deal with. The Obamas break all the stereotypes and it is a success story based upon hard work, grit and determination. I suppose some people just cannot fathom this.
Have you seen the movie “Harold and Kumar go to White Castle?” The movie was dead on about the stereoptypes of Indians and Asians in this country. However there is a similar incident shown in the movie about a young African American professor who gets wrongly arrested. The movie is over the top and at that time I thought it was far fetched to even be true until I read about the Harvard professor.
